Ed Whalen Red Headshot

Hi! I’m Ed Whalen. First and foremost I am a real estate agent. But my interests go far beyond that into the realms of finance, fitness, nutrition, hunting, and so much more that I plan to write about in my blog section of this website.

I have my B.S. in Meteorology from Northern Illinois University and have been working as a Weather Analyst at a financial data firm for the past 5 years. Though I love most aspects of my full time job, it was missing a few critical elements that feed my personality: instant gratification, competition, and most importantly the ability to help other people.

I believe this is what sets me apart from the other real estate agents out there. I am not in real estate for the money. This is not my ‘job’, this is my new life. And for that reason you will find that I’m going to put way more effort and care into it than anyone else. The amount of incompetent, aggressive, and pushy agents out there is astonishing, and frankly just really sad. I’ve heard countless stories of agents trying to push themselves on potential clients and make them sign contracts they don’t understand just so they can make a quick buck. This is not me, nor will this ever be me. I’m in this for one simple reason: to help you do it right.

As for the instant gratification and competition, these are just two things that make me who I am. I have always been an extremely competitive person who strives to never stop learning and do whatever it takes to win. Real estate will be no exception. So how does one ‘win’ in real estate? After all there is no olympic event for home sales. I think it comes down to “how many people did I help this year?”. If i can get that number higher and higher each year, then in my mind I will have won. That boils down to being more knowledgeable than the next person, working harder than they do, answering my phone when they wouldn’t, and at the end of the day providing a smoother experience for you.

Some of my passions include:

These are just some of the topics I plan to cover in my blog. When I research a topic I make sure to do my due diligence to weed out the good information from the bad. There are thousands of articles and websites on any given topic. I find reputable sources and read many articles to get a full understanding of the matter. From there I bring it back here and give you the main points found in my hours of reading so that you can easily read through in minutes, giving you a solid understanding and hopefully some action points! Head over to my blog now to check it out!
